When you have trained hard and your matchmaster is healthy, you are ready for the ultimate interactive game!
There is a choice of four different Infra Red Games (IR Games). You can play Sprints, Penalty, and Free Kick when your lifelines are at 15 points. You can ONLY play Match when your life lines are at 20 or above. Each match uses up 1 point of your P, H, F, and S life lines and you must play an IR game at least every 5 days to also avoid losing 1 point from each life line. To begin, aim your MatchMasters Infra Red port (located at the top of the pod) near the screen cover hinge at an opponent's Infra Red port. It is important to aim the MatchMaster units correctly and as still as possible during an Infra Red game to maintain a connection.
Match When the match commences, each of your lifelines will be compared to your opponent's. If your lifeline is higher than your opponent's, you score a goal. At the end of the match, the final score will be displayed. During a Match, no buttons need to be pressed as the games will play against each other automatically.
Sprints Press the Right Arrow key repeatedly to run to the finish line as quickly as possible. Your time will then be compared to your opponent's, with the fastest finish time being the winner. To see the result, keep the games facing each other and press the start button.
Penalty Use the Arrow keys and the B button to kick the ball into the goal. Each Player takes 5 penalties alternately. The player with the most penalties scored at the end of play wins. To denote who is taking the first Penalty, 1P will appear in the bottom right of the screen. The Goalkeeper will have 2P on the screen. To move the goalkeeper and to take the penalty, hold down the directional button in your chosen direction (left, right, or center) and press the B button repeatedly. This is to be done at the same time.
Free Kick Use the Arrow Keys and the B button to kick the ball, when taking a free kick, and to control the defenders to clear the shot, when defending the free kick. Each player takes 5 free kicks alternately. The player who scores the most free kicks at the end wins the game. To denote who is taking the first free kick 1P will appear in the bottom right of their screen. The defender will have 2P on their screen. To shoot the free kick and to move the defenders hold down the directional arrow in your chosen direction, (left, right, center) and press button B repeatedly. This must be done by both players at the same time.
Physio Your player will have to visit the physio if they pick up an injury in order to regain fitness. Once your player gets injured, you can not play any games or match. However, you must still carry out your daily routines (DRP) and go to the physio menu for treatment. To treat an injury, go to the physio menu and a highlighted injury number indicates which injury type you have and needs treatment. Select it and confirm your setting with the B button and then enter the physio menu where you select the corresponding physio treatment, which will be highlighted for you. Different injuries require different physio treatment and the time to heal an injury varies. While you are injured, you will still need to set your DRP for eating and sleeping at the set times.
